Competitive Team Program
KC Gym has had a competitive program since it’s start in 1984. We offer a Club atmosphere where State, Regional, and National competitions are a part of the KC Gym culture. Our program offers both Junior Olympic and KC League competitive opportunities.
USA Junior Olympic Program: KC Gym has been an active member of USA Gymnastics for the past 30 years. Owner/Director, Laura Hemberger Cashmore, has been actively involved in competitive gymnastics since the age of 10 years.
- 1) USA JO Compulsory programs: include Levels 3, 4, and 5. Routines have been made by USAG designed for the young athlete who is ready to get serious in the sport of gymnastics. These girls compete at a State Championship competition and have opportunities to travel out of State.
- 2) USA JO Optional programs: include Levels 6,7,8,9,10. Routines are designed by the athlete/coach and each level has specific requirements under USAG rules. These girls travel throughout the country competing at Invitational Competitions. State, Regional, and National level competitions are specific to each of the levels.
KC League Gymnastics: This is a Recreational Gymnastics program where the athlete can put in a limited amount of time in gymnastics and still experience a competitive environment. Though this is considered recreational it is still a competitive level and is by invitation only and requires a commitment. Competitions are held in the Kansas City Metropolitan area. This is a great place to judge your daughter’s interest in the sport of competitive gymnastics. The final meet of the season is called the KC League Championship Meet.
